About Dr. Shruti

Compassionate women’s healthcare, rooted in trust.

I'm Dr. Shruti Tanwar — a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist passionate about caring for women through every stage of life, from adolescence to the years long after menopause. I built my practice around the kind of care I'd want for my own family: unhurried, honest, and centred on you.

My story

A practice built on listening as much as on medicine.

Medicine drew me in early — I was fascinated by the idea that with the right conversation, examination, and care, I could quietly change the course of someone’s life. Obstetrics and gynaecology gave me the closest seat to that work.

I trained at VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi — one of India’s largest tertiary-care teaching hospitals — completing my MBBS (2012–2017) and then my MS in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (2018–2021). Those years shaped almost everything about how I practise: the volume taught me pattern recognition, the diversity taught me humility, and the team taught me that medicine is, at its best, a conversation.

I’ve since served as a Senior Resident in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology across premier Delhi government hospitals — Safdarjung Hospital, Indira Gandhi Hospital, Dwarka, and currently Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital, Rohini — managing labour wards, high-risk pregnancies, gynaecological surgeries, and outpatient consultations every day.

Across these years I’ve handled the full spectrum of deliveries — normal, breech and instrumental (vacuum and forceps) — as well as complex caesareans including previous multiple LSCS, placenta previa and obstructed labour. My focus areas extend to high-risk pregnancy, fertility, PCOS and hormonal health, menstrual disorders, the surgical management of gynaecological diseases — laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, fibroid and ovarian surgery, and hysterectomy — menopause, and preventive women’s wellness.

To deepen my surgical practice, I went on to earn a Fellowship (F.MAS) and a Diploma (D.MAS) in Minimal Access Surgery from the World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons at World Laparoscopy Hospital, Gurugram — formal training in laparoscopic and minimal access techniques that let me offer women safer, less invasive surgery with quicker recovery.

But more than any procedure, what matters to me is how you feel through it. I believe in patient education, awareness and shared decision-making — we build your birth plan and treatment together, so you leave each visit not just cared for, but genuinely empowered and in full control of your own body. Whether you’re a teenager visiting a gynaecologist for the first time or a grandmother navigating menopause, the experience is the same: unhurried, private, and a true partnership.

Compassion first

Every visit begins with listening. I want you to feel safe enough to share what really matters.
